               <l>Even if we cling to the soft skirts of <rhyme label="c" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">woe</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>The world sweeps by ; we have to let them <rhyme label="c" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">go</rhyme>.</l>
               <l rendition="#pom_12309_indent">All things go from us ; all but love and <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="k">hate</rhyme>,</l>

               <l>Cooling the heartless fever of my <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="m">cheek</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>The pleasant words of love he used to <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="m">speak</rhyme></l>
               <l>While I sat listening, happy, hushed, and <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="m">meek</rhyme> :</l>

               <l>At evening, though he called his father <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="r">slave</rhyme>—</l>
               <l>I, should I dare to kiss away the <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="t">tears</rhyme> ?—</l>

               <l>If I had known and never seen him <rhyme label="o" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">more</rhyme>,</l>

               <l>And who am I ? how should I diso<rhyme label="p" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">bey</rhyme> ?</l>
               <l>I dare not ask my heart, I know what it would <rhyme label="p" type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine dvpp:rhymeCrossStanza">say</rhyme>—</l>
               <l>God’s will be done, for love has swallowed <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="b1">mine</rhyme>,</l>
