            <head>The New-Born Light of the Press.</head>
            <p>The following magnificent lines are extracted from a Poem, entitled<lb/> “ <title level="a">The Press</title>,” by Ebenezer Elliot, the
               great Radical Poet of the<lb/> North, of whom we lately published in the <title level="j" rendition="#pom_18462_italic">Guardian</title>, a short biogra-<lb/> phical
               sketch. No tyrant, or tyrant’s slave, could write such lines.</p>

               <l>God said, “ Let there be <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="a">light</rhyme> !”</l>
               <l>Grim darkness felt his <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="a">might</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>And fled a<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="b">way</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l>Then, startled seas and mountains <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="c">cold</rhyme></l>
               <l>Shone forth, all bright in blue and <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="c">gold</rhyme>,</l>
