               <l rendition="#pom_19196_incid_indent">The hunter’s moon is in the sky—her cruse of frosty <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="a">dew</rhyme></l>
               <l rendition="#pom_19196_incid_linebreak">Earth empties ; throw your covers off of grave-grass rank and <lb/><rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="b">green</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>This is the dead men’s holiday, ’tis Hallows’ <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="b">E’en</rhyme>.</l>

               <l><seg ana="dvpp:sdAnaphora">The</seg> mother with her buried child falls into tender <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="c">play</rhyme>,</l>
               <l><seg ana="dvpp:sdAnaphora">The</seg> baby at her shrouded breast sucks soft and sleeps a<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="c">way</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l><seg ana="dvpp:sdAnaphora">The</seg> lover dead twelve years ago seeks out his buried <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="d">dear</rhyme></l>
               <l>That put her broken heart to sleep but yester<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="d">year</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>‘ Behold, my love, my hair is black, your bonny hair is <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="e">white</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l rendition="#pom_19196_incid_linebreak">How come my darling’s eyes so dim ? ’ ‘ With weeping many a <lb/><rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="e">night</rhyme>,</l>
               <l rendition="#pom_19196_incid_linebreak">With sewing many a weary day through years that knew not <lb/><rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="a">you</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l>But I have done with rosemary and bitter <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="a">rue</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>‘ My garland of dry rosemary hangs where I used to <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="c">pray</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l>My garden with its tansy flowers runs wild for many a <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="c">day</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l><seg ana="dvpp:sdAnaphora">The</seg> box-plants that I tended well the passing children <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="f">pull</rhyme>,</l>
               <l><seg ana="dvpp:sdAnaphora">The</seg> green leaves strew the way they go, slow-foot, to <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeHalf" label="f">school</rhyme>.</l>

               <l><seg ana="dvpp:sdAnaphora">And I</seg> may rest at last, sweetheart, as once I played, with <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="a">you</rhyme>.’</l>
               <l>He kisses her, he blesses her, he strokes her faded <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="g">hair</rhyme>—</l>
               <l>She never was so dear to him when she was <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="g">fair</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>The beggar that of hunger died, the girl that died of <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="i">shame</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>Are playing with dead children here some childish <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="i">game</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>Husband and wife forget the wrong that kept their souls a<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="j">part</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>Hand lies in hand as tenderly as heart beats upon <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="j">heart</rhyme>.</l>
               <l><seg ana="dvpp:sdAnaphora">This is the</seg> day for buried love to see as it is <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="b">seen</rhyme> ;</l>
