               <l>“ For man is born to trouble as the <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="a">sparks</rhyme></l>
               <l rendition="#pom_13769_indent_1">Fly upward ;” from the cradle to the <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="b">grave</rhyme></l>
               <l rendition="#pom_13769_indent_2">Life is one trouble to avoid its <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="c">end</rhyme> !</l>
               <l>And if a transient gleam of pleasure <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="a">marks</rhyme></l>

               <l>Bringing assurance of a brighter <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="d">sphere</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>The breath of life to us ; and joys de<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="c">scend</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>And holy light, and hopes that cast out <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="d">fear</rhyme>,</l>
               <l rendition="#pom_13769_indent_1">From our eternal home beyond the <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="e">skies</rhyme>—</l>

               <l>Though troubled thought, like sparks, will upward <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="e">rise</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>And there still seek, and find, that rest the world de<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="e">nies</rhyme>.</l>
