               <l><hi rendition="#pom_1651_incid_1">Loud</hi> roared the Tempest,</l>
               <l>Fast fell the <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="a">sleet</rhyme> ;</l>
               <l>A little Child Angel</l>
               <l>Passed down the <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="a">street</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>With trailing pinions,</l>
               <l>And weary <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="a">feet</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>The moon was hidden,</l>

               <l>For the Angels’ ladders</l>

               <l>“ Listen,” they said,</l>
               <l>“ To the pelting <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="c">rain</rhyme> !”</l>

               <l>She sobbed, as the laughter</l>

               <l>“ Give me rest and shelter</l>

               <l>And I will give you</l>
               <l>Your heart’s de<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="d">sire</rhyme> !”</l>

               <l>The dreamer sat watching</l>

               <l>.... So he wove her wailing</l>

               <l>The worker toiled on,</l>

               <l>The mourner was nursing</l>

               <l>They heard not the promise</l>

               <l>When the Angel paused</l>

               <l>Heard the Child Angel</l>
