               <l>The olives, laden with round purple fruit,</l>
               <l>Bend to the breeze their leaves so silver-<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="a">white</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>A rustling line of poplars marks the course</l>
               <l>The winding Arno follows in the <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="b">vale</rhyme>,</l>
               <l><seg ana="dvpp:sdAnaphora">And</seg> all the lilac hills are dashed with gold,</l>
               <l><seg ana="dvpp:sdAnaphora">And</seg> brown, and green, and rose so faint and <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="b">pale</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>The belfries grey rise solemn in the midst</l>
               <l>Of the white hamlets smiling in the <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="c">sun</rhyme>,</l>
               <l>And many a villa—could the stones but speak—</l>
               <l>Would tell sad tales of love, and murders <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="c">done</rhyme>.</l>

               <l>While distant Florence sleeps beneath the guard</l>
               <l>Of Giotto’s tower, whose bells in days of <rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="d">old</rhyme></l>
               <l>Called sober citizens to don their arms</l>
               <l>And thus their ancient liberties up<rhyme type="dvpp:rhymeMasculine" label="d">hold</rhyme>.</l>
