C. J. B.Born in West Brompton, Middlesex. Educated at Jesus College, Cambridge. Ordained a priest in 1878. Served as a curate, vicar, and rector of several parishes from 1878 to 1932. Member of the Modern Churchmen’s Union. Married twice. Chambers’s Journal ledger entries list his address as St. Barnabas Vicarage, Sutton, Surrey (poem published on 21 September 1895; NLS Dep 341/371), c/o F. Sykes M.
