Poet and actor. Son of John Booth. Educated at Westminster School where he began acting in school plays. Worked as an actor, getting his professional start in Dublin at the Smock Alley Theatre. Lived in London after 1700 where he found consistent acting roles. Married Frances Barkham in 1704, and after her death in 1710 married Hester Santlow on 3 August 1719.
