Poet and antiquary. The Chambers’s Journal ledger entries for his poems list his address as Secretary’s Office, P. O. Dublin (for his poem published on 5 May 1877; NLS Dep 341/371) and Travg (Travelling) P. O. Euston Sq Station (for poem published on 1 April 1865; NLS 341/310). He was elected to the Royal Historical and Archaeological Association of Ireland in 1889, and was also a fellow of the Royal Geography Society of Ireland. Wrote an essay on Robert Greene for Temple Bar (March 1866). Author of Goblin Tales of Lancashire (1883) and Birds of the Bible. Chats with the Children about Bible Birds (1884).
