Poet. Born in Mannheim, Germany, c.1838. Née Rocheid. Married Major-General David Briggs on 3 July 1860, living with him in Largo, Fife. Chambers’s Journal ledger entry for Briggs’ The Lighthouse of the Minot’s Edge, published on 15 April 1899, lists the author as Mrs Briggs, of Strathairly Cottage, Largo, Fife (NLS Dep 341/371).
