Poet, historical fiction writer, and clergyman. Educated at Trinity College Dublin. Curate in several parishes in Ireland. Moved to England in 1869. Rector of Whyton, Cambridgeshire. Chaplain to the Mariners’ Church in Kingstown, Ireland (1836-1862). Wrote religious poetry and prose. Contributed to Dublin University Magazine. Author of a historical fiction account of the 1641 Irish rebellion, which he published anonymously. Married Anna Stopford.
