Educated at St. Louis Eliot Grammar School, and Woodward High School in Cincinnati. Married William Ernest Brotherton on 18 October 1876. Contributed to The Century, The Independent, Scribner’s Monthly, the Aldine, and The Atlantic. President of the Cincinnati Woman’s Press Club.
