Poet, playwright, and historian. Educated at the universities of Huesca and Zaragoza. Entered the service of the duke of Villahermosa in 1585. Appointed historiographer of Aragon in 1599. Author of Información de los sucesos de Aragón en los Años de 1590 y 1591 (not published until 1808). Moved to Naples in 1610 as secretary to the viceroy. Burnt his poetry prior to his death but his son had retained copies and published the surviving poems in 1634. Biographical information: Oxford Reference. (DD)
