F. B. Doveton.Born in Exeter, Devon, and later lived at Karsfield, Torquay, Devon. Joined the Royal Canadian Rifles in 1861 and the Army Control Depot in 1868 until retirement in 1871. Chambers’s Journal ledger entry for his poem
