Published essays in Canadian newspapers about living in Vancouver Island. Canada’s Historic Places gives his residence from 1911 as Sandwick Manor, Courtney, British Columbia. Publications include Rural Rhymes and the Sheep-Thief (1896), From Shetland to Vancouver Island: Recollections of Seventy-Five Years (1937).
