Working-class poet. Born in Milnab, near Crieff. Son of a miller. Apprentice housepainter. Contributor to Glasgow Herald and People’s Friend. Author of Strathearn Lyrics, and Other Poems (1889). Chambers’s Journal ledger entry for Edwards’ Starlight, published on 18 February 1893, gives his address as 54 Comrie St, Crieff (NLS Dep 341/370).
