Corn Law Rhymer.Born in Rotherham, Yorkshire. Married Frances (Fanny) Gartside in 1805. Advocate for the improvement of the working class including founding the Sheffield Anti-Corn Law Society, opposed the “bread tax,” and supported Chartism for a brief time.
