Born in Abbeyleix, Queens County, Ireland, to parents Samuel Foster (1821-1905) and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Fitzhenry (1838-1927). Married James Calvert Spensley (1870-1942) in Abbeyleix in 1900; by 1901 they were living in London. The 1901 and 1911 England Census lists her profession as author. Publications include With the Tide, and Other Poems (1896), A Sheaf of Songs (1906). Contributed to The Irish Monthly.
