Poet, novelist, and philanthropist. Née Leveson-Gower. Born in Tixall Hall, Staffordshire. Daughter of Lord Granville Leveson-Gower and Lady Henrietta Elizabeth Leveson-Gower. Educated at home. Converted to Roman Catholicism in 1846 (once her father had died), although was received into the church in 1843 while in Italy. Lived in Paris after 1824, and (following a period travelling in Europe) London after 1841, before retiring to Ayrfield, Bournemouth from 1876 onward. Married Alexander George Fullerton in 1833. Gave most of her income from writing to charitable causes. Author of eight novels, all featuring religious themes. Biographical information: ODNB. (BGL, AC)
