C. G.Author information from Chambers’s Journal ledger entry for
A Rainy Day in Spring, published on 28 March 1891, which lists the poet as Miss C. Gibson, of Downieken, Dundee (NLS Dep 341/370). Note that the ledger entry for
In a Country Churchyard, published on 20 September 1890, spells the surname Gibbon (NLS Dep 341/370), but the Scottish Post Office Directory confirms the spelling is Gibson (see https://digital.nls.uk/directories/browse/archive/85781317?mode=transcription). Possibly the same poet as Miss C. G. Gibson, who published in Chambers’s Journal with the initials “C. G.” in 1897. Nationality presumed from address. (AC)
