Garnett.Born in Glasgow. Godwin’s mother died in childbirth and her father died three years later. Godwin was raised by Mary Warboys, a close friend of Godwin’s mother. Married Thomas Godwin in 1824. Acquainted with Robert Southey and William Wordsworth. Author of poetry volumes The Night Before the Bridal (1824), The Wanderer’s Legacy (1829), Poetical Works (1854), The Reproving Angel: A Vision (1835).
