Mrs. Grant of Laggan.Born in Glasgow. Gaelic speaker. Her family moved to America when she was aged three, moving back to Scotland in 1868. Married Rev. James Grant in 1779 and, on his death in 1801, began publishing poetry to support her family. Her son edited her memoir and correspondence in 1844. Biographical information: ODNB. (AC)
