Poet; historian and antiquarian of East Yorkshire; clerk and then salesman for a Hull timber merchant. Pseudonym F. C. H. The Chambers’s Journal ledger entry, for his 17 October 1885 poem, gives his address as New Cross St, Savile St, Hull (NLS Dep 341/369). According to his obituary in the Newspaper World and Advertising Review (14 December 1929, p. 26), he contributed to the Hull Daily Mail’s local Historical Mems and died at Hessle, East Yorkshire.
