Poet, dramatist, and translator. Pursued writing professionally. Published her first poem in Pocket Magazine in 1818 and a verse drama titled The Poet’s Child two years later, which was published by her brother Benson Earle Hill. Honorary member of the Dramatic Authors Society. Moved to London in 1827 and remained there until her death. Translator of Madame de Staël’s 1807 French novel Corinne; ou, L’Italie (with verse translations by Letitia Elizabeth Landon), which was the novel’s first translation into English and was reprinted through most of the nineteenth century.
