William Walsham Wakefield.Born in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Educated at Wadham College, Oxford, and Durham University. Ordained a priest in 1847. Married Frances Ann Douglas on 6 November 1849. Rector of Whittington, Shropshire (1851-1879). Bishop of London in (1879-1885). Appointed Bishop of Wakefield in 1888. Author of Daily Family Prayers for Churchmen (1852).
