Poet and campaigner for medical reform. Born in London. Married Rev. William Rothery, and changed her surname to Hume-Rothery in 1866. Advocated for women’s health education and admission to the medical profession. She also campaigned against mandatory vaccinations, founding the National Anti-Compulsory Vaccination League.
