Poet, short story writer, novelist, biographer, Pre-Raphaelite model, and salon hostess. Daughter of the artist Alfred William Hunt and the writer Margaret Raine Hunt. Attended Kensington Art School. Close friend of Oscar Wilde; lover of Somerset Maugham, H. G. Wells, and Ford Madox Ford. Her Kensington salon was attended by many well known literary figures. She founded the Women Writers’ Suffrage League, co-founded PEN with Catherine Amy (Dawson) Scott, and established (with Ford) the English Review. Author of a biography of Elizabeth Siddal.
