Poet and editor. Pseudonym: Anna Hagedon. Née Heathorn. Wife of Thomas Henry Huxley. Born in the West Indies. Moved to Sydney, Australia, to live with her brother-in-law, where she met her future husband. Immigrated to London in 1855 and married Huxley on 21 July 1855. She translated German and drew diagrams for her husband’s lectures. Author of Mrs. Gander’s Story (1882), My Wife’s Relations: A Story of Pigland (1884), and several volumes of poetry including Poems of Henrietta Huxley with three of Thomas Henry Huxley (1899) and Later Poems (1906).
