Poet. Pseudonym: J. K. L. Chambers’s Journal ledger entry for A Murmur, published on 9 March 1895, lists the author as W. Lamont, of Saffronhill, Hamilton (NLS Dep 341/371). Reilly suggests that Lamont, author of Poems (1893) and St. Kentigern: The Story of the Bird and the Tree; the Bell, the Fish, and the Ring (1894), was possibly a Glasgow lawyer; Late Victorian Poetry, p. 265.
