Poet. Née Curchod. Frequently referred to as Madame Necker. Daughter of a pastor in Crassier, Switzerland, and his French wife. Educated at home. Lived in Paris until she and her husband were exiled from France, after which she returned to Switzerland. Worked as the proprietor of a French salon. Married Jacques Necker.
