Uncle Toby and the Widow

Figure descriptions
A fat man and a fat woman sit closely and embrace in an outdoor garden structure. The man looks down into the woman’s eyes and holds a long pipe in his lap. He places his foot on the leg of his cane, which leans against the side of the structure. The woman, identified in the poem text as a widow, is dressed in a black gown and veil with a white lace collar under her chin. She holds a white handkerchief in her hand and returns the man’s gaze. A rose bush and other plants grow beside the garden structure. There is a house in the background. Full page.
