Figure descriptions
Illustration is set in Venice, Italy. Two veiled women stand together and look out
at the Venice Canals from behind a stone
railing. There are boats on the water and buildings line the far shore, including
the basilica of Santa Maria della Salute. Steps
lead up to an area on a platform beside the women. Large columns are placed at the
top of the steps. Artwork fills most of the wall
behind the pillars, and a vase sits on a plinth in front of it. Clouds fill the sky.
