Figure descriptions
A crowd folk-dances in a hall. At the centre, a man and a woman dance while looking
into each other’s eyes. The man raises one
arm in the air and hold the other arm out by his hip; the woman points her toe and
uses one arm to curtsy. A fiddler plays behind
them. At the left, another man mimics the first man’s dancing position and appears
to invite a woman to dance. Adults and children
watch the dancers from the outskirts of the room. Full-page illustration contained
within a single-ruled border.
