Poem signed By his Excellency the Marquis of Lorne. Poem concludes with the note: The above is a version, put into rhyme, of a story written down some years ago from oral recitation, by G. Dewar. There are slight differences between this and another version in J. F. Campbell’s ‘Song of the Fienne.’ Dewar was a conscientious collector, and his language has been followed very literally in these lines. (DD)
