Figure descriptions
Two Roman soldiers, identified as Nestor and Tydides, stand on the back of a chariot. Four horses pull the chariot, one of which is lying on the ground. There is a crowd of soldiers around the chariot, many of whom hold shields and spears. Some soldiers lie dead at the front of the illustration. There are arrows flying at the soldiers. Buildings stand in the background. The sky is filled with dark clouds, but there is a break in the clouds through which light emerges, illuminating the illustration. Full-page illustration.
