Figure descriptions
An old man sits on a bench and looks down at the ground. There is a scroll next to
his feet. The old man is identified in the
poem text as John of Padua. Four men and a woman surround him. Two men kneel on the
ground in front of the old man and look up at
him. Another man stands behind the kneeling men; he also looks at the old man. There
are two peacocks behind the group of figures.
One peacock stretches out its wings. A flock of birds flies over top of a large building
in the background; the building is
identified in the poem text as Longleat. 3/4-page illustration contained within a
single-ruled border.
