Figure descriptions
Multiple men, identified in the poem headnote as people of the baronies of Bargie
and Forth, carry a man’s corpse on a
stretcher above their shoulders. Some men carry shields and weapons and one man carries
bagpipes. The man at the front of the
procession blows into a horn. The man to his right holds his hands in front of his
eyes as though he is crying. There is a body of
water in the background. 3/4-page illustration contained within a single-ruled border.
