The first man holds his arm out in front of
him, gesturing across the water toward distant land. He holds a sword behind his back.
A second man stands beside him and looks out
at the water. A third man sits on the deck. He hunches over, crosses his arms and
legs, and covers his face with his hat. A fourth man side-steps
the man on the deck. The fourth man has a sword on his belt. He holds onto a rope
as he leans to the left to get a better view of
the water. A fifth man, shown from the torso-down, hangs from a rope ladder on the
ship’s exterior. The foot of a sixth man can be
seen behind the seated man. 3/4-page illustration contained within a single-ruled
