Poem notes The Llano Estacado, or Staked Plain (so called from the means taken by the Mexicans to mark a track for travellers), is a large tableland to the west of the State of Texas, U.S., and is without a stream in its extent (HD). Poet attribution: according to the Temple Bar ledger, Desprez received £1-11-6 for this poem (BL ADD MS 46564 f. 54) (AC).
