Contributed to many journals, including St. Pauls Magazine, Good Words for the Young, The Argosy, the Contemporary Review, Saturday Journal, Tait’s Edinburgh Magazine, Pall Mall Gazette, and The Spectator. Helped found The Citizen in 1878. Author of The Chain of Lilies (1857), Lilliput Levee (1868, illustrated by J. E. Millais and G. J. Pinwell), Lilliput Revels (1871), Lilliput Legends (1872).
