Alfred Egerton.Son of Scottish parents who emigrated to Texas in 1878 and owned a dairy farm. Educated at the University of Texas (1899-1904), where he wrote the university’s official song (
The Eyes of Texas). Sinclair became a farmer and then moved to New York City in c. 1923 to work as a partner in a tax firm. Chambers’s Journal ledger entry for
