Travel writer, novelist, and poet. Mother of the writers Thomas Adolphus Trollope and Anthony Trollope. Née Milton. Moved to London in 1803 with her sister. Married Thomas Anthony Trollope on 23 May 1809. In 1827 moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, with only three of her children in an attempt to improve the financial situation of her family, but was unsuccessful. Returned to England in 1831. After her husband’s death she moved permanently to Italy in 1843, living in Villino Trollope, Florence, with her son Thomas and his wife Theodosia Garrow Trollope.
