Poet and planation owner in India. Pseudonym: E. G. W. Author information from Chambers’s Journal ledger entry for To a Lady, published on 9 October 1886, which lists the poet as E. G. Windle, of Rotagberry, Madras (NLS Dep 341/369). According to the Settlement Report of Nilgiri, E. G. Windle owned a plantation at the Kullinarey Estate in Kótagiri Ghat, suggesting that the ledger mistakenly noted his address.
