Dean of Canterbury (1857-1871). Editor of Dearden’s Magazine and Contemporary Review. Contributor to Contemporary Review, Good Words, and Sunday Magazine. Author of several volumes of poetry including Poems and Poetical Fragments (1831) and The Abbot of Muchelnaye (1841). Close friends with Alfred Tennyson. Biographical information: ODNB. (CC)
