Educated at Kelvinside Academy and the University of Glasgow. Author of poetry volume The New Noah’s Ark (1899). Worked for the Glasgow Evening Times and sub-editor of The Scots Pictorial. Chambers’s Journal ledger lists his address as Northcote, Dowanhill, Glasgow (poem published 5 February 1898; NLS Dep 341/371).
