Poet. Born in London. Closely connected with leading figures from the decadent movement, including John Gray, John Lane, and Richard Le Gallienne. Prolific periodical poet, including contributions to The Yellow Book, The Savoy, the Pall Mall Gazette, the English Illustrated Magazine, and Plain English (the anti-Semitic magazine founded by her husband). Married Lord Alfred Douglas on 4 March 1902, but separated in 1913 although they remained close. Had brief homosexual affairs with Natalie Clifford Barney and Renée Vivien, according to the latter's diaries. Converted to Catholicism in 1917.
