Painted genre scenes and landscapes of the Netherlands. Exhibited at the Paris Salon, the 1889 Exposition Universelle, and many other European and American cities. Received the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Franz Joseph of Austria. Member of the Akademie der Bildenden Künste. Made a Chevalier of the Légion d’Honneur. Biographical information: Benezit.
