Sholto.Born in Country Limerick. Apprenticed to an apothecary at age 13. Contributed to Lady’s Magazine, London Magazine, Dublin University Magazine, among other periodicals. Editor of Liverpool Journal. Moved to America in after being declared bankrupt in 1852. European correspondent for New York Evening Star. Publications include Lays of Palestine (1828).
