Prolific novelist, poet, journalist, and children’s writer. Alternative signature: “E. Nesbit.” Married writer Hubert Bland on 22 April 1880 then, after his death, Thomas Tucker on 20 February 1917. Nesbit was a socialist and was one of the founders, with Bland, of the Fabian Society. Nesbit and Bland also co-edited the Fabian Society’s journal Today.
