Figure descriptions
Hand-drawn poem text is contained by the rest of the illustration in an irregular
rectangular border. It appears slightly
off-centre, towards the bottom-right corner of the illustration. The hand-drawn poem
title is framed on a plaque in the top-right
corner of the illustration. The rest of the illustration shows a woman, identified
in the poem text as a princess, standing on a
tower balcony. The balcony overlooks a small body of water. It is decorated with the
heads of beasts extending from the columns, and
the iron railing curves into a heart-like shape. The woman reaches both of her arms
out over the balcony railing and looks down at
the water. Shrubs and other plants surround the water and a large swarm of butterflies
fly above it. There is a bell tower with a
weather vane in the distance. Two birds fly in the sky. Full page.

outward from the sun and the poem text follows
the curves of the beams. Full page.
